Drive to Dona Paula which is situated about 7 kms to the west of Panjim or Panaji, the capital city of Goa. Dona Paula is located in the southern side of the rocky hammer-shaped headlands which divide the Mandovi and Zuari estuaries and the place offers a good view of the Mormugao Port.
The place is filled with legends. And one such legend is that the beach was named after Dona Paula, the daughter of a Portuguese Viceroy (during the Colonial rule many centuries ago), she threw herself from a cliff, when she wasn’t permitted to marry a local, Indian fisherman. And the legend, myths, and a dose of romance, gives this place a special aura and tourists’ throng the Dona Paula Beach to catch some breathtaking views of the scenic river, and they also indulge in some exciting water sports.
The picturesque Miramar Beach is a beach that is closest beach to the capital city of Panaji. Miramar beach is a long beach that is marked by beautiful soft golden sands. Fringed by palm trees, the beach offers a panoramic view.
Visit Temples and Churches in Old Goa, Se Cathedral, the seat of the Portuguese Bishop and one of the biggest Churches in Asia and the Basilica of Bom Jesus where the relics of the Spanish saint, St. Francis Xavier is kept are definitely worth a visit and gives you brief history lessons too.
Vist to Mangueshi Temple is dedicated to Manguesh, an incarnation of Lord Shiva. It is one of the most well-known and popular temples in Goa. Legend has it that Goddess Parvati, Shiva's wife, came to Goa in search of her divine spouse, who had left her alone in their mountainous abode after a disagreement.
Ancestral Goa (optional) – It is a model village creation by Maendra Jocelino Araujo Alvares, situated at Loutolim, South Goa. It was designed specifically for preservation and remembering ancient Goan art and culture.
In this model village you get to witness various miniature creations of ancient Goa how the people lived during those times, their traditional occupations, and the different social classes that existed in those times. The main highlight however at Ancestral Goa is the giant 14M sculpture of Sant Mirabai and The Legend of the Big Foot.
Beach destinations- The famed Colva Beach: The Colva village was of utmost importance to Portugal and was supposedly frequented and was considered as holiday retreat for Goa's high society, who would come to Colvá for a "Mundanca" or a change of scene or air.
Today, the Portuguese areas are dotted with houses or villas, and some of them are in ruins. In the weekends, or during the holiday season, people, visitors and tourists’ visit here in droves.

Boat Cruise (optional) (Please note: The drop to pickup location only after the boat cruise): Enroute on the way back to Panjim, we stopover at the Santa Monica jetty for an hour of serene river cruise. Onboard, the boat, not only do you enjoy the cruise down the river, but there is loads of entertainment on board like some good Goan culture fest as in local folk dance performances like Dekhni and Fugdi. There is also DJ music and all are invited to sing and dance and have a great time on the cruise.
